“As someone who has given birth, I am no stranger to the unpredictability of what it takes to bring a child into this world. Starting off our journey to parenthood with a missed miscarriage really set the tone moving forward: one of immense fear and uncertainty. With fear and uncertainty in tow, our second pregnancy came with a high risk diagnosis that quickly changed my plans for an unmedicated tub birth to a planned cesarean delivery. Talk about unexpected! The guidance from our doula made all the difference as we learned how to advocate for the experience we aspired to have, despite being in an operating room, and we were able to have a beautiful birth. It was not long after this that I knew I needed to work in the birthing space to be able to help others who are navigating difficult experiences. Pregnancy after loss is nothing short of hard and confusing, and if you find yourself in similar shoes, I see you, I hear you, and I am here for you.

As a birth doula, I am passionate about helping others navigate the unpredictability of pregnancy and birth with confidence. I will empower you to make informed decisions regarding your care and advocate for what is most important to you. Regardless of how you deliver, I approach birth with a mind over matter philosophy. I will always remind you of your strength using affirmations, meditation and deep breathing to help you stay in control.

As a post-partum doula, I firmly believe in order to have a well-cared for baby, you have to have a well-cared for mother. Together, we will discuss how I can best support you whether it be a homemade meal, a listening ear, or a quick load of laundry. Anything that you feel would be helpful so you can focus on healing and bonding with your sweet new baby.” - Emily
